Good Vibes Gold Coast 2011

 The weekend just gone the crew got together to roll down to Good Vibes Gold Coast.
With a lineup comprising of Nas, Damien Marley, Erykah Badu, Aloe Blacc, Ludacris and Tommy Illfigga, we new a big one was instore.

We kicked off with breakfast beers and a well executed Ed Hardy T-shirt prank on our homey Apples ( which may turn up on the blog soon) before rolling down to the GC in Uncle J's homies pimped out Get Shorty van.

Special shout outs to the ironically named E-kills, who after only being out of the car for about 4 minutes, managed to get himself arrested and charged before even entering the venue,  a new crew record.

In between checking out ill sets and connecting with friends, I wandered around snapping terrible iphone pics and people watching. Here is some of the flicks. Shouts to Irena and Ryan for being getting down with the spirit of the snapfest.

Boardgame Movies - this is what cinema has come to

It's only recently come to my attention that they are making a movie, based on the board game battleship. I'll just let that sink in for a second for anyone else who this is also news to.

The scariest thing is this piece of shit has been given a budget of $200 million. Seriously, this is the kind of movie Uwe Boll would make - and it gets 200 mil.

I can only conclude from all of this, that Hollywood has FAR too much access to cocaine, and that they've run out of comic books to turn into movies.

If this is the kind of shit that can get a green light these days, then fuck it - i'm going into movies. I have spent literally minutes coming up with some ideas, and i think there is some potential here. Coked out hollywood money men, send your cash to me and lets do this thing.

Good advice

Was just having a read of Ether and Utah's blog, and came across some excellent advice for those who may occasionally indulge in documenting their works of art on moving steel canvasses. Have a read:




“I thought i would share some information, something i have not seen anyone go into detail regarding on any of the blogs or forums in recent years. It concerns exif data. Exif data is a digital code your camera imprints into every photo you take, and sticks with it where ever it travels around the internet and among friends etc. Details such as time and date, are easily messed up by just not setting your time correctly, but what is hard to shift, and what can fuck you royally, is the serial number of the camera used to take the photo.

You take a photo of a panel, and that ends up on the internet, with very simple software you can decode that photo to find the camera model, and serial number. Where do you think an internet search for other photos uploaded with that same serial number attached to it will lead? More than likely, your personal facebook page, or blog, website or personal flickr. If the shot is clearly a yard or night shot, thats your door off the hinges at 7am, and probably the camera itself, within your room, and more than likely for most, some sort of literature that shows you like graffiti on trains. Pretty tech stuff, but this is 2011 and thats a tiny part of the high tech shit they will use to track you down.

So keep your fliks off the net, exif data is trashable, with techy software, but a simpler way to get rid of most of the data, if you must send it to someone, is to open the flik and print screen it and send that one.

Nice article. To get rid of ALL exif data use a program called JStrip, it’s free, and doesn’t recompress the photos or anything. Make sure you set the date and time on your camera incorrect too.
Remember memory cards can be unformatted, or undeleted. use a free program called Eraser to securely erase the files or whole card.

Take notice if its applicable to you, and stay safe kids.

Karma is a big fan of MMA

mI am NOT a fan of cocksuckers who fake tap gloves and then then throw for a KO. Its not much a of a step up from a sucker punch.
Fortunately, Karma is a fan of MMA so it was nice to see Cowboy choking Kelly's cheapshot ass a little later.

Not so much Karma, but Gabe Reudiger is just one of those guys you like to see get KO'd, so when i saw this, i was double stoked.

Anderson Silva is still unbeaten inside the Octagon, and still the UFC middleweight champion, after a spectacular first-round knockout win over Vitor Belfort at UFC 126.
  Although the first round hadn't had much action up until that point, the out-of-nowhere knockout from Silva was spectacular, and gave him an exclamation point on his UFC record 13th consecutive victory.

Meanwhile, the ill as fuck, explosive up n comer Jon Bones Jones just cleaned up fellow undefeated prospect Ryan Bader. Jones looks humungous at 205 and his domination of Bader was massively impressive.

He now gets his shot at Shogun next month, and while I think that Shogun probably has too much experience for Bones right now, its hard to put anything past him. it should be a SICK fight, because both guys will believe they are the better striker and wont shy away from the fight.


Quick shouts to the the bookies for having the younger, bigger, stronger, equally talented Griffen as underdog to Rich Franklin. That made no sense to me, and proved to be good for my wallet.

His new mixtape Friday Night Lights is fucking dope and in an era of weezys and jeezys and basically shit commercial hiphop, im stoked to see this kid be the first signing to Roc Nation.

His got legit flow and lyricism that would hold its own in the golden era of east coast rap, plus he has the backing of Jigga money and beatsmiths. I'm really hoping a kid like this is the future of hiphop in the US and not Drake or some Lil Wayne imitation.

Put it this way, if these mixtapes are the quality of stuff thats not making the album, I'm fucking amped on how good the album could be.

Calendar Girls 2011

I've been kind of slack on this since the epicness that was Red October, but for 2011 ( sans January ) I'm gonna bring it back ( in the Sir Mix-a-lot sense of the word.)

Ben Laukis + Surf n Ink = Dirty Dirty

A week or so ago, I made the short journey down the freeway to the Gold Coast to hook up with my man Ben Laukis who you may remember from my ill Dirty Harry tattoo a month or so ago.

This time I was lined up to get my Dirty bookend, the man, the icon Old Dirty Bastard.
ODB was/is one of my alltime favourite MC's who's solo album return to the 36 chamber: the dirty version is still in my top 10 of all time. For those of you that were born post '93, its hard to explain just what kind of impact he and the Wu had on hiphop when 36 chambers dropped.

I wanted to have the matching Dirty Harry v Old Dirty legs, plus have a tribute to an alltime great character of the hiphop game.

Ben was tattoing at the huge Surf 'n Ink tattoo convention and offered to tattoo me there. No way I was passing up that opportunity. Big ups Ben, thanks again, your work is fucking banging my friend.

Any of you interested in getting a sick tattoo, hit me up and I'll put you in touch with Ben. You wont be disappointed.

Palms vs Palms

Adlib x Palms x Storm x Gimiks

So this was a wierd little graff game played out on a wall for all to see.

I had this dope sketch from Storm HA that I'd been meaning to rock for a while. My homie Adlib was up visiting from Adelaide and I was adamant I was gonna get him out for a paint. He decided he wanted to rock a Palms piece.
The homeboy Gimiks was free for the first time since his incredible Bitter Winds exhibition, and decided he could make it out for a paint and some beers with us.

Adlib and I decided we would have this really weird Palms vs Palms battle where we both rocked a Palms piece, but neither piece would be an actual sketch of my own.

Had a kick ass day in the sun, the ground was soup thanks to the QLD rains, but the beer was cold, and the Ironlaks were abundant.

Unfortunately we could have done with a bigger spot in the end, but all in all, no complaints.

SA Great

Painted this bad boy over the Xmas & NY break on a quick trip back to my hometown of Adelaide.

The weather was scorching hot, but we managed to get an ill lineup together consisting of Muger, Roger, Vans , Toast and Stoops to blaze away in the summer sun.

I decided it was as good a time as any to flex out the ill-as-fuck sketch that my homeboy Nemo dropped for me recently.

We all seemed to go pretty big, and Muger came correct with his candy colour scheme.

I dont have a final link up yet as a couple guys hadnt finished when I left, but when I do I will update the blog.
