Robert Downey Jr. reacts to Dan Hardy getting KTFO

The boys from Sherlock Holmes were in attendance at UFC 120 this past Saturday, taking in a few fights while enjoying a break from the production of their upcoming sequel. No doubt there was some friendly, posturing going on between the three superstars, as Robert Downey Jr. is the only American in the group, while Jude Law and Guy Ritchie are both very, very British.

At one point, during the first round of the co-main event between Dan Hardy and Carlos Condit, the patriotic divide between the three entertainers appeared to reach it's breaking point. Late in the round, right after Condit landed a punishing left hook that dropped his British opponent, RDJ is seen leaping from his seat and celebrating the American's victory in the middle of a stunned O2 arena.

Then, as referee Dan Miragliotta is jumping in to stop the fight, we see Downey Jr. look down at (the still seated) Law and Ritchie with a big ol' American grin on his face.

Sadly, we weren't able to see the (what we could only imagine to be) looks of horror on the faces of the other two, as one of their fellow countrymen laid sprawled out on the canvas.

Red October

Ok, so she has died her hair blonde here, but that can not deny the fact that Kate Winslett is a natural ranga.

Not to mention her boobies out, sketch scene in Titanic was the stone cold highlight of the movie..

Trust me, you can spend waaaaay too much time looking into this....

No Not This Red October...

....This Red October:

Thats right scumbags and degenerates. After giving Calendar Girl the month off, I have come back with the brainwave from my main hombre Boozy Tuesy.

The man is a bit of a fan of the ginger goodness, and he came up with the idea to rock Red October all month long. So I'm going to do my best to bring the best of the reds to the Essential Shit for your viewing pleasure.

Here's a special one just for you Big Tuesy...

The Roots, JT and Jimmy Fallon

I cant decide whether I think its kind of cool that these guys are jamming with the Roots and went to the trouble to rock this. Part of me def enjoyed it. The other part of me thinks I should be cringing in disgust at what hiphop is coming to and that The Roots are even doing this.

the conundrums we bitter, cynical old hiphop heads face....

Anyway, have a look and decide for yourself.

UFC 119 Thoughts....

Well, I just got back from watching UFC 119, and to be honest I sort of wish I hadn't wasted my time.
It definitely had to be one of the most boring cards in recent memory.

CroCop clearly has no interest in actually fighting anymore, he is just picking up paychecks on his name, and the Bader v Nogueira and Serra v Lytle fights were far from captivating.

Overall the card was so disapointing I cant even be bothered to review the fights, other than to say that the few shining lights from this blackhole of an event were:

Sherk v Dunham  - the veteran and former champion in Sherk took on the undefeated up and coming prodigy in Dunham. Thisfight was really going to show where Dunham stood in the food chain and he really lived up to his potential.
It was incredibly close fight that Sherk won by Split Decision, and one that will be controversial to some extent.

I felt Sherk won round one, Dunham convincingly won round 3.

I gave Dunham round 2, but it was so close that I was absolutely certain it would be a split decision, and not suprised in the slightest that Sherk got it.
It was a hell of a war though, and the one great fight of the card.
Seeing fellow UG poster Sean McCorkle get a crack in the big show, then crack big Mark Hunts arm was a highlight for all of us who follow Sean's comedic threads on the Underground.

Unfortunately after watching the snooze fest of a main event we are shown a great submission by CB Dollaway for Sub of the Night, but we dont get to see the whole fight, and to make matters even worse ( I know, seems impossible to get worse right?) the co-Fight of the Night - Mitrione v Beltram isnt aired either.
We have been blessed with some pretty good events lately, even if the cards havent been too awe inspiring so I will lay off this abortion for now, but the UFC really needs to bring the goods with the next event.

Inspirations pt.1

Ok, I've been kind of slack on the blog tip a little lately, things have been mad hectic.
I needed to show some love though, so I thought I would do make some posts with flicks of some of the guys getting creative around the world that are inspiring me lately, whether that be graff, illustration, phtography, tattoos or whatever.

Im a kick it off on the graff tip with a guy Ive gotten to chat to a little lately, who hails from Bosnia.

His name is Nemo One and I first saw his shit in Down by Law magazine I believe and have since kept an eye out for his work. Funnily enough, he hit us up to try and get some Ironlak in Bosnia, so the (graff) world is a very small place.

Enjoy his shit. I do.
